<< back to all newsRelaxed Cancellation Policy to Better Serve our Guests amid Corona Virus UncertaintyUpdated: May 5th
Dear Valued Guest,
During these uncertain times for everyone, we want to reassure you that the health and well-being of our guests and staff are our top priority. As we do every day while running the Ottawa river, we are navigating this fluid situation with great care, learning and adapting as we go. With that in mind we are relaxing our cancellation policy for all spring trips from 30 days before arrival to 7 days, see full details below.
We have been monitoring the progression of the Novel Corona virus (COVID-19), and have reviewed the travel information from various websites: Government of Canada, World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and will continue to monitor those resource as we move towards our opening weekend of June 26th, 2020.
We will be opening and operating as planned for the 2020 season. Additional measures will be in place to ensure the health and safety of our guests while staying with us. The measures include:
- Social Distance seating in restaurant, food and busing
- Enhanced cleaning protocols: including resort, accommodation units and equipment.
- Increased distances between individual campsites.
- Our accommodations already have ample safe distances between units
Additional measures will be added as recommended by not only government organizations as well as additional precautions recommended by our staff as well as guests. The safety and well-being of our guests and staff is Wilderness Tours’ top priority.
The Wilderness Tours Resort is located in an isolated outdoor environment, our facility is away from highly populated areas in Ontario. (We are located 1.5 hrs west of the city of Ottawa and 4.5 hrs North East of Toronto/GTA). This clean, natural environment is our best asset in helping keep our guests safe.
What we are doing:We are taking every precaution as necessary and looking at different operating plans to ensure your health and safety during your stay with us.
Updated cancellation policy:
We are modifying our cancellation policy for all early bookings and reservations from 30 days to 7 days. This applied to all bookings are all arrivals on or before July 31st.
Full refunds are issued if trip cancellation notice is received more than 7 days prior to the trip date. No refunds or alternate dates will be issued within 7 days of trip date without cancellation insurance, which is $12 / person / day.
We will be monitoring the evolving situation and may update our policy again, as we get a clearer picture over these next few weeks.
Spring Gift CertificatesWe know that many of you have spring gift certificates.
All Black Friday or any GC with an early valid can can now be used for any date in 2020. In the unlikely event that we will not operate in 2020, all gift certificates will be extended for the same dates in 2021.
Moving ForwardWe believe that we are healthiest when we can be outside. Take a walk, ride a bike, start a yoga routine or paddle, regardless of your activity, we hope that you can reduce the stress of the next few weeks by finding peace and comfort in the outdoors. We will continue to update you as we move forward towards our opening weekend. Please ensure you follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to get the most up to date information.
As the snow and ice begins to melt here in the Ottawa Valley, we look forward to seeing you this summer and sharing the magic of whitewater.
