Sure we have the best resort facilities, apres-raft activities, good food, exciting nightlife and a variety of programs but our staff are the heart and soul of WT. We are unique in that we employ the most year round number of professionals of any company in our industry. The reason is simple: ALGONQUIN COLLEGE WILDERNESS TOURS IS CANADA’S LEADER IN OUTDOOR EDUCATION Some time ago Algonquin College quietly inspected all the adventure companies in the Ottawa Valley looking for a service provider for the college’s new 2 year diploma program in Outdoor Adventure. At the end of that exhaustive search Wilderness Tours was chosen. In 10 short years, the program is the college’s most popular attracting hundreds of applicants each year. Students spend both the Fall and Winter semesters with WT’s instructors and learn all outdoor adventure skills.

Many WT staff also spend their winters at Mount Pakenham, the Ottawa Valley’s most popular family ski and snowboard resort. Every spring when white stuff melts and turns to whitewater, they switch from (ski) poles to paddles.
